Through The Dare To Be Project, U.S. Olympian and World Champion Cyclist Amber Neben delivers a bike, helmet, and bike lock with a special message of overcoming adversity to underserved kids for Christmas, a birthday, or a special project. Through the unconditional gift of a new bike we connect and inspire each kid to DARE TO BE a doctor, a teacher, the President . . .whoever it is they dream to be!
Currently, we are efforting to provide handcycles to kids not able to ride a traditional bicycle. These kids have the biggest hearts and we want to help them fulfill their dream of owning and riding their own bike. Through generous contributions from Dare To Be Project supporters, Abbey (shown below) can now ride her very own bike with her friends. Abbey's form of muscular dystrophy, Charcot-Marie-Tooth, does not allow her to ride a traditional bike. There are others like Abbey to help, so please consider making a contribution (no matter the amount). Each handcycle costs approximately $2,000. That's not a realistic expenditure for most families. There are kids like Abbey on the waiting list who really need and desire the opportunity to live an active lifestyle.
